Frequently asked questions

What is normal blood pressure?

Normal blood pressure is below 120 systolic and below 80 diastolic. Under the 2025 ACC/AHA guideline, 120–129 over below 80 is elevated, 130–139 or 80–89 is stage 1 hypertension, 140 or above or 90 or above is stage 2, and above 180 or above 120 is a hypertensive crisis.

What is a normal fasting blood sugar?

A normal fasting blood sugar is 70 to 99 mg/dL. The ADA defines 100–125 mg/dL as prediabetes and 126 mg/dL or above as the diabetes range. Fasting means no food or drink for eight hours or more.

What is a random blood sugar test?

A random blood sugar test is taken at any time of day, including after meals. As general guidance, below 140 mg/dL is normal, 140–199 mg/dL is elevated, and 200 mg/dL or above is high. The ADA's formal diagnostic cutoff is 200 mg/dL or above with symptoms of hyperglycaemia.

What HbA1c is normal?

An HbA1c below 5.7% is normal. The ADA defines 5.7–6.4% as prediabetes and 6.5% or above as the diabetes range. HbA1c reflects average blood sugar over roughly the last three months.

How often should I log my blood pressure and sugar?

Log every reading you take. MyVitals shows the current month on your dashboard and moves older months into History automatically, so a consistent habit builds a trend your doctor can read at a glance.

Can my family see my readings?

Only if you choose to share. You can generate a private live link that shows the current month's gauges and charts, read-only, with no login. You can revoke it at any time and the old link stops working immediately.
